Spring is slowly advancing and the first batch of migratory birds have arrived.
September, 2023
After all the rain that fell in July and August, September has been dry and warm and mosquito infested. Not good for birding, but the insect eating birds should have hopes for the future.

A busy month concludes with grand kid duties at lake Yxningen and trips around that area as well as some birding around home.

The Tuesday club has started up and I’ve been on a trip up north as well as brought the camera out bit more.

Another pretty miserable month but with a good number of days with fair weather.

Many migratory birds have now left the country, but some are still on the move. We’ve had the occassional frost night, but also a number of beatiful fall days. I managed to join two of the Tuesday club outings, but now that’s closed down for the season.

A surprisingly wintery February, that in the last week exploded into Spring (+10C degrees in Stockholm and a record +17 in the south east).

A slow month for birding. The excursions came to the regular winter pause, the weather was worthless and my usual suspects have migrated. Further I did not do any travel. (Not to mention Covid-19.) Another almost snow free winter with mild temperatures. Now, in March, I have started visiting the bird areas that are a bit more remote (but still in the wider Stockholm area). The early migrants are starting to appear.
