April, 2022
A chilly Spring this year. I started attending a second Tuesday (early morning) club, out on the Mälarö islands (MOF in photo captions below). We also had a short visit to the island of Gotland over Easter. But now it’s time to start packing for the trip down to the Österlen in the south of Sweden for the next two weeks.
November, 2021
Another quiet month with more of the same to come. Now at the end of November temperatues are below the freezing point but the snow has yet to arrive.
June, 2021
After that drab May, June has been very warm for Sweden. Often too hot for both me and the birds. With 35% of adult Swedes now vaccinated and the virus retreating, I hope the bird hikes will soon pick up again.
March, 2021
A wintery start of March turned into a Spring (almost), at least occasionally. I have seen he first returning and northward bound birds.
February, 2021
A surprisingly wintery February, that in the last week exploded into Spring (+10C degrees in Stockholm and a record +17 in the south east).
January, 2021
Winter has arrived, with snow and cold. With limited travel, predominately birds spotted at feeders this month.
December, 2020
Well, this month has not been much better than the previous ones. We’ve has a wee bit of snow for two days, otherwise overcast and rain. So I have not been too inspired to photograph birds.
November, 2020
Another wet, dreary, Covid-restricted month.
2020-09-01–12 Österlen
Another trip down to the south east of Sweden and Brantevik. A short stop outside Alvesta on the way.
