In between heavy rain days, Spring has finally arrived and thus allowing me to visit a number of local bird sanctuaries.
Another two week trip down to Brantevik via Alvesta. Our first week was mainly chilly, windy wet, but the weather picked up and the next batch of migratory birds started to arrive. I’m especially happy for getting good images of the Nightingale.
Wish I could say Spring was here for real, but there has been night frost, low temperatures and northern winds lately. That said, the early migratory birds are showing up and the blackbirds and robins are singing.
A wintery start of March turned into a Spring (almost), at least occasionally. I have seen he first returning and northward bound birds.
A surprisingly wintery February, that in the last week exploded into Spring (+10C degrees in Stockholm and a record +17 in the south east).
Winter has arrived, with snow and cold. With limited travel, predominately birds spotted at feeders this month.
Well, this month has not been much better than the previous ones. We’ve has a wee bit of snow for two days, otherwise overcast and rain. So I have not been too inspired to photograph birds.
Another wet, dreary, Covid-restricted month.
A slow month for birding. The excursions came to the regular winter pause, the weather was worthless and my usual suspects have migrated. Further I did not do any travel. (Not to mention Covid-19.) After the trip to Österlen, had a shorter stay at the son-in-law’s place at lake Yxningen. Was supposed to spend a week in the Outer Hebrides (Scotland), but Covid-19 made the travel agency go bust, the flights be canceled and us not feeling like traveling abroad.
Also went on a excursion with Fågelguidning to the Sandemar nature reserve.
