A chilly Spring this year. I started attending a second Tuesday (early morning) club, out on the Mälarö islands (MOF in photo captions below). We also had a short visit to the island of Gotland over Easter. But now it’s time to start packing for the trip down to the Österlen in the south of Sweden for the next two weeks.

March, 2022
The sunniest March ever with minimal rain/snow and with Spring approaching. An increasing number of larger migratory birds, but the smaller ones have mostly avoided my camera this far.
January, 2022
January turned out better than expected, so I’m back with a few photos.
November, 2021
Another quiet month with more of the same to come. Now at the end of November temperatues are below the freezing point but the snow has yet to arrive.
2021 September
Fall is arriving and migratory birds are leaving. So, a quiet month for my bird photography. Let’s see what October brings when trees are shedding their leaves and it will be easier to spot the elusive ones.
April, 2021
Wish I could say Spring was here for real, but there has been night frost, low temperatures and northern winds lately. That said, the early migratory birds are showing up and the blackbirds and robins are singing.
March, 2021
A wintery start of March turned into a Spring (almost), at least occasionally. I have seen he first returning and northward bound birds.
October, 2020
A slow month for birding. The excursions came to the regular winter pause, the weather was worthless and my usual suspects have migrated. Further I did not do any travel. (Not to mention Covid-19.) September, 2020
After the trip to Österlen, had a shorter stay at the son-in-law’s place at lake Yxningen. Was supposed to spend a week in the Outer Hebrides (Scotland), but Covid-19 made the travel agency go bust, the flights be canceled and us not feeling like traveling abroad.
Also went on a excursion with Fågelguidning to the Sandemar nature reserve.
April 2020
An unusually warm April got me out in nature a lot. Temperatures peaked at 20C, but now at the end of the month there is sleet. Here in Sweden we are encouraged to enjoy nature, despite the Corona virus, but to keep social distance – perfect for birding. The Tuesday club has been postponed, as has all other events.
